Reusch Aqua Keeper Goalkeeper Gloves
Full product specification in the words of Reusch.
With Reusch's Shockshield™ technology fist saves become safer, better controllable and thus more effective. Damping materials absorb the ball's impact perceivably and spread it over an large area while maintaining complete flexibility.
DryCell MMS™ featuring Dupont® Coolmax®
Reusch´s custom-made Moisture Management DryCell MMS™ system consists of several layers: A latex foam layer at the outside, a thin cotton layer, a layer of PU foam and one made of patented Coolmax® fiber from Dupont®, on the hand´s inside. That not only preserves a dry climate inside the glove, but enhances also the grip between glove and hand, making for an advanced control of the ball since the goalkeeper can literally feel the ball better. Reusch´s DryCell MMS™ is moisture management on the highest level.
‘Aqua Tech’
As you can guess from the name, the Reusch Aqua Tech palm is Reusch’s goalkeeper glove palm designed specially for wet weather.
It’s not a versatile palm – you wouldn’t really want to rely on the Aqua Tech in dry conditions, or on hardground surfaces. But in wet weather the Reusch Aqua Tech is the #1. It’s rated even better by Reusch than their Wet N’ Dry palm in rainy weather conditions.
The Aqua Tech palm incorporates Hydrograins, which help improve its grip in wet weather.
Remember, with Reusch gloves featuring the Aqua Tech palm, for the best performance the palm should be dampened with lukewarm water one to two hours before actually playing. This allows time for the palm to soak up some moisture and will improve its grip even more.
Bowl Cut
Anatomically pre-shaped fingers adapt perfectly to the natural position of the hand and ensure the optimum position when gripping. The bowl-shaped, inner surface of the hand offers precision ball contact for a secure hold.
‘ShockShield Advanced’
‘Shockshield Advanced’ is the ‘new and improved’ version of Reusch Shockshield. It gives “30% more protection and control”, compared to the standard Shockshield, according to Reusch. (How did they measure that number anyway?)
Reusch’s ‘Shockshield’ has been around for a while, and has become a really popular and pretty standard feature of a lot of the Reusch range. Shockshield is the name of the materials in the backhand of the gloves designed to improve performance when punching the ball.
The Shockshield feature aims to give:
- Better control when punching – so you can punch the ball where you actually want!
- More protection and cushioning when punching
It’s up to you to believe the 30% claim or not. But whatever you believe about that, the power of the Shockshield padding seems to be proved in the eyes of many Reusch goalkeepers and fans.
‘Neoprene Wrist Bandage’
A special wrist bandage reserved for the Reusch Aqua models of gloves.
Neoprene is a special material used by fishermen when walking into rivers – it’s an incredibly fast drying flexible material and great for wet weather conditions.
As a goalkeeper, you don’t want to be playing for 90 minutes in heavy rain with gloves that absorb lots of water. That means cold hands and slower movement - and ultimately worse performance. Neoprene is an important wet-weather material to keep help hands dry faster and to keep the gloves lighter in rainy weather.
